Does anyone hit some past undergo of doing this? It’s also blurred as to how cushy it is to intend northerly to southward if you become in by ferry.

Alanya-> Krenia is not a ferry
There are ferries everyday from Tasucu
(a region in Mersin, Turkey) to Kyrenia, Cyprus… They are very big ferries and they are slow so it might take up to 4 or 5 hours for you to reach Cyprus.
After you arrive you have to purchase a valid insurance for your car otherwise they wont let you into the country. Dont worry I am sure you ll find insurance people’s booths over there.
Soo you wanna drive to the south of the island? That might be tricky…
Its little bit complicated but let me try to explain…
First of all, it all depends on your car… What kind of plate do you have on the car? If your plate is from one of the EU countries it shouldnt be any problem but sometimes Greeks make a problem with it coz they define North Cyprus’ ports as “illegal”… But technically it should be fine…
However, if you do have a Turkish plate on your car, Forget about it!! Dont even bother, Greeks wont let you in for sure…
Coming to Cyprus by car is very costly and time consuming. I ll suggest to fly there and rent a car from the airport… That will save you a lot of time and money if you re planning on staying for a short time…
You have two satisfactory answers. I am from North Cyprus. You can find daily ferries from Tasucu-Silifke to Kyrenia, Cyprus. According to the Green Line Regulations of EU, you can drive across the checkpoints to the south. All you have to do is get a free road permit from the Greek Cypriot authorities at the checkpoint (you have to do this during weekdays 07.30 – 14.30). And a 1 month insurance which is €25 at the moment. I often do that and drive to the south and come back.
However, as someone else suggested, it could be easier and cheaper to fly here from Turkey and hire a car here. You can do that for a few days if you want to drive around the North and you can also hire a car in the South and drive around.
